Use the City’s online options this busy holiday season
31 October 2024
The City’s Customer Interaction Centres are typically busier during November and December, as residents often choose to renew motor vehicle licences or pay accounts during the last months of the year. To avoid waiting in queues this holiday season, residents are encouraged to make use of the City’s convenient online options to get ahead of the queues and save time.
‘We remind residents to keep the busy holiday season in mind when visiting a City interaction centre during the next few months. Our centres often experience longer queues during this time of the year, which could lead to longer waiting times. One way to avoid the queue and to save time is by making an online booking at a centre which is convenient. Since the launch of the booking system, thousands of residents have used it. We also urge our customers to switch to paperless billing to stay on top of their municipal accounts, wherever they are. All they need to do is to send an SMS or email to receive their account via email.
‘Using our e-Services options are recommended for residents who would prefer to do their admin at their homes. A number of services are available here, such as viewing municipal accounts, renewing motor vehicle licences, entering water meter readings and applying for rates rebates, among others. Residents can register for the City’s e-Services on our website and activate the services they need. There are also a number of ways to pay online, directly via your bank or at a retail shop. We’ve even made it easier than ever before by including a QR code on your account,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
Residents may access the City’s online booking system at https://bookings.capetown.gov.za to book an appointment for motor vehicle licence renewals, as well as for account payments and queries. See this short YouTube video https://bit.ly/3WH8j5o to see how you can do so.
